Founded with Iowa roots

As an ophthalmology resident at the University of Iowa, Jeffrey Lynch, MD, MPH, came up with the initial idea of connecting those who needed prescription glasses with donations. As a pediatric ophthalmologist at Associated Eye Care in St. Paul, Minnesota, he launched ReSpectacle, a website to facilitate the redistribution of donated glasses to those in need. ReSpectacle has grown to over 400 registered volunteers in over 20 chapters across the country.
